Our Schools, Our Children, Our Future

Our children, the future leaders of our community, need supportive adults who model the values of education, perseverance, and hard work to achieve their potential. I am an educator, a community leader, a scientist, and a mom. I see the big picture as well as the small pieces and how they affect each other. My passion is building bridges to connect people and resources that often seem disconnected.

Our schools need a multicultural mindset that engages the cultural capital of all our communities. As a board member I have and will continue to employ an evidence-based approach - identifying what is working well, what needs improvement, and how it all comes together.

My commitment to you

It has been a privilege to represent you on the Wenatchee School Board this year.  As a mother, community member and science educator, I am excited about the opportunity to work with you to make sure our students receive an excellent education in a supportive environment.

This is an important time in the life of our district.  It is essential that we make decisions based on data and on clear information that reflects the best thinking of parents, staff and community members.  This requires open communication, thoughtful listening, and transparent deliberations. As your representative, I will consider all sides as I seek collaborative solutions that prioritize the needs of our students and draw on my best independent judgement.

In my professional capacity as the Director of MESA at Wenatchee Valley College, I work with students preparing for careers in mathematics, engineering, and science.  The passion that these young people bring to their studies makes me optimistic about the future of our community. This perspective convinces me that our schools can make a difference for every student to succeed.  Building on robust programs and strong schools, we can ensure that our brightest students reach for their dreams and that every student is prepared for a productive career, partnership in a strong community and membership in a resilient family.

Your thoughts are important to me. The campaign affords me the opportunity to hear from voters and to focus on those concerns and issues that you believe are critical to the school district and our students.  Listening to and drawing on community perspective will be a priority for me during the campaign and beyond.

I am eager to connect with voters and learn more about your perspectives and vision for our schools. Please use the contact option on our website to share your thoughts, schedule an event, ask a question or request more information.
